I checked with BCAA and got a quote of $1560 for my in laws for 6 months with coverage upto $25,000.
My in laws got a quote from Natioanl Insuarance(from India) for 54,000 INR with limit much much higher upto $250,000 .
Will National a better option then?

thanks

Hi Guys,
I have a question related to dental insurance to visters to Canada.
I have taken normal insurance for my in laws from RBC and as ususal they don't cover dental problems.
Unfortunately my father in law underwent a minor dental operation with 5 stiches and because they are flyhing on March 30th I need to take him to a dentist for cutting the stiches within next 10 days time.
Could anyone tell me how much it might cost me (Approx) for just cutting the stiches?
If the amount his is it better to take a dental coverage for say 15-20 days.Does those company cover existing dental problem?
Lastly if I don't take any dental insuarance can I still visit a dentist for my father in who is a visiter and pay upfront or all dentist might ask for any dental insurance.

Thanks

Local company is easier to make a claim than a company in Canada. I would suggest BCAA

No dental insurance as far as I know will cover visitors except in emergency. You can go to any dentist and tell them you do not have insurance and can pay cash for it . Iti is fine . See if you can "negotiate " the price ..

[Some cover pre existing conditions but rates are pretty high

Being an agent myself, I did not get an visitors insurance coverage for my mom.
I feel that you should let your parents come first and see how they feel. If your in-laws are coming in summer then trust me you don't need any coverage. Any policy will be activated only after 48 hrs of you informing the company.
All the money that the company charges is just a rip off. If you go for any claim, they would prove that this is related to some pre-existing condition.
Rest is upto you
