Just to let you know guys that when you are shopping around for visiter insurance you also check the rate with some tarvel agent alongwith insurance broaker.
For my case initially I got the rate from a few broaker but none of them told me about any discount on the specified/listed rate:( .
When I checked the rate with one of the travel agent even before asking they agreed to give me flat 13% discount on the specified/listed rate. Then I negotiated the rate with one of the broaker and that guy agreed to match that price ...I finally took from RBC and 13% means I saved almost $215 for 6 months insurance for my in laws. so shop around carefully:)

Is anyone has latest information? My parents are here for 2.5 months, they got insurance from India, now they want to renew it. Who are the best service provider as they want to renew their policy from local (Toronto/Canada) based company. Their age is around 69 years, Please advice.

My parents are coming on Visitors visa.
I would like to go for Visitor Insurance for them. Anyone having the latest information about the best Visitors Insurance plan and from where to buy it?

Thanks
Umesh

See your msg inbox. Best to go thru an agent- all will offer you some discount and they will know of companies that will insure pre-exisiting conditions.

Manulife is one such company that covers diabetes for instance, for an extra premium. They also pay-out well.

You can also choose amounts to cover $25,000, $50,000, $100,000 and so on.

Also depends on age of people visiting- some have a cut-off age at 69- i.e they will not offer insurance for people aged above 69.

Travel Insurance for visitors
1.can take in India or after coming here
2.There will be exclusion of preexisting conditions so in those conditions it will be almost useless as the companies will not pay anyhthing.
3.Dental coverage with old fillings etc will cost more .
4. Cost of coverage depends on age of persons to be insured and how much coverage you are looking for.($25000 or $50000).
even though cost is involved it is peace of mind you are buying so it is worth it and most often it is not even used.
If you need specific quote send message with age ,sexetc details and a quote can be provided with no obligations.

Check your msg box. It may not be acceptable to give out names and contact nos on the site, in case it's construed as advertising, though it seems some mortgage brokers and real estate agents already are doing that

To get to your msg box, log in and just below your log in name will be the icon my home. Click on that and then when the relevant page opens click on inbox msgs.

Alternatively send me a msg by clicking on the msg icon in any one of my contributions and message me your email and tel no and I shall ask the agent to get in touch with you. He's pretty good and very knowledgeable.
