Hi CD`s,
Appreciate if someone can respond to my query.
Here are my details:
Mail sent to CPC-M on 9May 2008
Mail recvd by CPC-M on 12th May 2008
Approved at CPC-M and forwarded the file to CHC-New Delhi on 16th June 2008
CHC-ND started processing on 10th July 2008
Additional proofs asked by CHC-ND on 25th July 2008
Sent additional documents on 19th Aug2008
And until 24th Oct there was no communication from them.
Actually my spouse had some mail(24th or 25th July 2008) from CHC which she missed and we came to know after a week tht there was a mail sent to us. We have given my spouse`s friend mailing address as she is staying in a hostel so she thought if she gives her friends address somebody will be there to receive communication all the time. Now today my spouse has got a call from her fren that during Diwali time all her family were away for 2days and somebody that time (not sure whether its a courier or registered post) came and seen no one at home and asked neighbour and tht lady said no one stays in tht house by my spouse`s name.
So I am thinking they must have returned that document back to CHC stating that she doesn`t stay in tht address.
And all these days we were desperately waiting for some communication from CHC.
Now my question is whats the best option to do to communicate to CHC that we missed the mail from them. Any idea whether they use registered post or courier.
As I am expecting that letter might contain either asking my spouse to come for an interview(if its an interview does this thing gets updated on ECAS) or requesting her to send her PP.
Do you guys think that CHC will resend the mail again immediately when they see a mail from us or again its gonna be a waiting game.
Please help. We are so desperate to know what that mail contains.
Thanks in advance for all the help and support provided to me.

Your suspicion is, that they might have sent you a letter with some kind of communication to your wife's mailing address. It might be... Some times it pays to tell the Postman that they are expecting an important mail from CHC. They will bring it back a second time for delivery.. Ask him any way.
You can also write an e-mail with what you have written here to us or send them a note asking if there is any update on her files. (CHC)
In my books you should be receiving a request for her Passport for stamping. It should be on its way. Look out for tomorrow's mail.
If it was from them it will be a normal communication in an ordinary envelope. Only thing might have been is, they might have returned those pictures etc., which is remote. But who knows?
Try Caips notes, ecas, and updates on her (your) files, it should be there on their web site. All they will tell you is decision made.
I will go through your letter once more and see if there is anything indicated in there. They have been with it for the past FIVE months. So, look out for their mail.
Good Luck.
Freddie.
P.S. Also check the times on the movement of files, on other websites. It pays to keep in touch.
Hi Freddie,
Thanks for your valuable inputs.
We checked and there was no attempt made to deliver the letter second time and ge did not even leave us a note tht letter is in postoffice is waiting to be collected. I believe this to be registered post thats why he did not throw it in home n go.
As per your thinking you said it could be PPR do you think CHC sends a letter for PPR through registered mail?
Yesterday we did send a fax to CHC explaining that we have missed the mail and also asked them if they can send the mail asap.
DO you have any idea if the mail will be resent immediately upon receipt of our fax or else it again goes into waiting mode.
Hope everything goes fine as we have waited for long time.
Thanks

Hello Freddie,
We have received a PPR along with Travel History Form as that postal guy luckily did not return to CHC. So I think we were lucky there.
I have a small doubt regarding Travel History Form. As my spouse travelled last year on temporary work permit which was issued by her company and she was legally working here in Toronto. Her validity on WP was from 20th June 2007 to 20th Dec 2007. As there was an extension needed and her employer has told her that they are filing for extension and until that she can continue working.
Now my question is that when she is mentioning her entry and exit dates in travel history form they will see clearly she overstayed in Canada. And she doesn`t have any proof that there was an extension applied by her employer (as she had to leave(2nd Feb 2008) before the approval on extension on her WP).
Do you think we need to mention this fact along with travel history form in a separate page or they themselves will be able check in their system that her overstay period was genuine.
Please help me with your thoughts.

Please provide them with the actual dates. They know the rest of the story. Also send them the Passport for stamping. (Now try and find out from the past employer, if they did apply and got the approval too?)
It might drag on for a few extra days, a nail biting period for you, but will eventually work out. (I Hope)
Good Luck.
Freddie.

Hi Freddie,
What if last year my wife`s employer did not apply for extension or took it easy as we don`t have any clarity and its fully their responsibilty to apply for the extension. If thats the case will my spouse be refused PR visa?
She was telling she did follow-up with her employer to make sure her stay is legal and employer did confirm that they have applied for extension but what if they have not.
Really worried thinking about all these as ultimately we have to suffer for their mistake.
But one thing I have noticed during her overstay period they did deduct the taxes from her sal and paid to government. Is this could be a serious issue or they will understand and grant us visa?
Please share your thoughts on this.
