Dear Massood ji,

I am new to this forum. At the outset, I would like to thank you and all CDs for this wonderful forum to exchange information and to share views. I searched thru the existing information and could not find the answer to my questions, so requesting your advice.

I am located in Middle East and planning to study (full time) masters programme in Canada and also would like to apply for PR. Just to save on time, as by the time I would complete the study, the PR application process would be over.

Is it possible to apply for Student visa & PR at the same time OR in any particular order (I mean, firstly for Student visa and once Student visa is granted then PR application before going to Canada)?

Does it affect on PR application, if Student visa is refused (just a thought).

Please accept thanks in advance.

Hi Jupiter,
I know you want an answer from the expert on this topic, but I just wanted to suggest to you that you study in Canada after you become a PR (if time is not so critical for you). It will save you a lot of money; plus you can also apply for student loan which is known as OSAP.

Mr. Faisal,
Thanks for your advice. Yes, I would be applying for PR in due course of time. However, I wish to have more comments from experts in this forum.

If you can afford the overseas students fees, apply for student visa first. Once in Canada, apply for PR.

Good luck.
