Hi Massoodji,
I am happy to let you know that I got Canadian temporary visa (Work permit) few days back. It is valid for one year. I will be joining my new job in the second week of March.
I went through visa approval letter and there is a clause saying that “The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act does not permit a temporary resident to seek permanent residence from within Canada”. I want to know more details about the same. I did some research and came to know that there are very rare chances of temporary visas getting extended beyond 14 months. Form the above I concluded that with my temporary visa I should be able to work only for one year.
If I decide to apply for permanent residence soon after landing what would be the procedure please let me know or please point me to the threads discussing the above issue.
Also please post the way to contribute (paypal would be the best option I guess), I would be more than happy to contibute for that noble cause.
kindest regards,

If you meet the minimum requirements and score 67, you can apply as soon as you enter Canada. You can apply via the Canadian embassy in Buffalo or New Delhi. Be aware that you may need to enter the US in the event that you are required to attend an interview and may need a visitor's visa to do so.
