Hi guys,

Can you suggest some Desi accountant who will charge less or no fee in scarborough to prepare and file my tax. This is my first time since my landing.

Thanks

1. They should file tax retun to get certain credits and GST and for applying for the Trillium Drug Plan.

2. The first time return would normally be a paper return and you can use any free software to make it your selves.

I am in Scarborough. You can contact me and if it is your first time tax return with zero income, I would do it for free for you.

I had the misfortunte of dealing with an Indian (South-East Asia) accountant for my Canadian taxes. He works in Bramton. Due to a mistake at his end, I had to pay a hefty penalty to the CRA. Since then, have stopped dealing with the likes of such accountants.

Word of caution - Make sure you have it cleared (in writing) up front on what happens in case the tax filer makes a mistake and who pays for it.

Since then I have moved to H&R block and they have it in their agreement that they would pay the penalty if it is due to a mistake at their end. So far so good with H&R block.

Hi Seniors,
I am landing in August. My family shall be living in Canada. Regarding myself I shall be going back to Middle East Job. I am planning to bring in an amount required as by rule for a family of 4. I have NRE deposites in India and in bank in Middle East. Is it necessary to move all these funds to Canadian account before first filing of returns? What would you advice?

Thanks
