Hi CD's,
I am glad someone is finally talking about this problem.
Here's my story:
Having seen desi channels play out on many of our desians TV's, i decided to get one myself last month.
Alas!! It seemed like a right idea at a wrong time and wrong place.
In the beginning, everyone assured me that the connection would last for a good year or two after which, i might have to get a new card.
To make a long story short, i called up couple of 'agents'(fly-by-night kind) and had one chap install it for 450$ after much pleading and coaxing. (you see..these guys are in huge demand all over the GTA and they consider their presence as a Darshan from Lord balaji!)
we enjoyed the South asian channels including Zee Tv,Teja, Gemini, Sony etc for a good one week. One fine morning, the screen was flashing 'Bad channel or scrambled'. The agent promptly informed us that it has happened to everyone and there is no telling when it would come back.
It's been about 20 days since we are in the 'information blackout'.
The agent is in the middle of a 'disappearing act'.
I have been told that the 'code' has to be broken by someone before we can all happily tap into the dish network.
i would love to hear any similiar expereinces from all CD's and if there is any possible light at the end of the proverbial 'channel'.

We are in the same boat like Seenappa- only difference is that we enjoyed the channels for a month instead of a week. We went for the satelite instead of Rogers or Bell because no one else is providing telugu channels like Gemini, Teja.
For the last two weeks , service provider is saying \"give me a week\" but nothing is happening.
Thanks vijay..
i was under the assumption that Rogers and bellVu provided telugu channels..legally, that is.
Do you currently receive Teja or Gemini and if so, how much is it costing you per month?
