I have recently moved to India after having spent some time in Canada. Is there a legal requirement / stipulation that I must change my address with the bank and Tax authorities from the Canadian to my current in India. If yes, then within how much time I must change it and which law states that?

If u are canadian citizen, u are required to file return regardless of where u are resident and have to pay tax difference. The only way out of this is called severing ties with Canada for tax purpose.. which is basically sell off all ur assets , close ur bank accounts and send the info to CRA that ur will severe ties.


If u are not a canadaion citzen then the only time u will have to file a return is if u have some investment income.

Change of address with Bank is more for ur statements not falling in wrong hands..
