hi we moved to canada in Dec of 2004. we mooved from the states. 8 bags 2 kids (one a baby) , a cat all ended here in halifax on the night of the worst storm of the year. we have set up pur own business and are working hard to make it a success.
its a lot of work and much more physically straining than it would have been in India. But we love our town and all the ppl in the community have gone out of their way to welcome us.
there is a Indian family here who have been here for 45 yrs and the first thing this lady told me was "when in Rome do what the Romans do" Even though we are the only Indian family here we never feel the diff. PPl made so much effort this christmas , they didnt want us to be alone during the holidays that we had soooo many invitations through out the 2 weeks.
I know all will be fine and we're here to stay.

It is nice to know that whatever you have achieved in Canada till date, you are happy with it.

However, what is the success story? What have you achieved? What difficulties, if any, you have faced? What is it that you have done that you can call as "when in Rome, do what the Romans do" (and by the way, when and if that lady goes to India, does she do what the Indians do - or she continues to be a Canadian/Westner?)

This section was created for people to relate their story, their strategies, and various things they did to achieve success (not working towards achieving success) so that others can get lessons and motivation from that. I do not see anything of that sort in your post - the ideas, the strategies, the experiences, the struggles, the special achievements and over all, how it was finally beneficial for you to move to Canada.

Please elaborate.

Hi
Thank you for your thoughts. Every one tells their story in their own way.
I feel this is my success story up to now. What you infer from it is up to you. This is my experience to date. It is success in alot of ways the journey is not over yet.
take care
