Hello All
I have finally landed into Canada, applied for SIN card and submitted my letter of landing at the border post
Post landing i came back to US, at border i was told that i would have to personally go in and collect my PR card, they wont be mailed to my address
AS FAR as i had heard i was told thta the cards get mailed to the address you provide at the border/landing station
has something changed since then?
would appreciate your response and experience of some one who has recently landed through BC

PR Card will be coming by post to your canadian address if you have given one at the time of landing. They will not send it to US address.
It takes about 4 weeks

Ashish,
Share more.....how is it there? How do you see the city on the North side of the border as compared to its American counterpart? How different are the shops, schools, transportation different?
I am asking this just to see if we should be expecting any culture or social shocks (if any!).
Someone told me that after crossing the border into Canada, the cities do not carry that affluent looks as those of their American counterparts? Ashish, does this statement look right to you? Any comments?
Your comments will be appreciated!
Thank you,

hi
Well this wasnt the first time i was visiting BC, i have been there at least 4 times before and to calgary and Edmonton as well
To me Vanc is not as great as compared to other parts of Canada, especially i found Calgary whole lot better then any other place, Edmonton in itself is good as well(i got bunch of known people there) and it still has Indian culture existense
anyway Vancouver in itself is pretty big and crowded, North vanc i found it better , however i landed at Surrey which has few parts where u feel like being home everything Indian, dont even feel of a need to know english
Saying that its all in positive way, i love my culture and am happy to see its existense
I returned back to US after brief stay hence dont have too much to add
FYI : the customs and other formalities at the border was easy go , nothing asked nothing said just got the Flags and was on my way,
