Hi everybody,
though I have not posted to this forum too often, I have been following it for quite some time now. We landed on May 26th and was put up in a hotel for a week during which time we rented an apartment, applied for SIN, OHIP, changed the address for the PR card online. We were also able to obtain acces to utilities like cable, internet, phone and cell-phone (with some effort ). We also opened a bank account without much difficulty at TDBank.
We received our PR card withing 12 days of landing and the SIN number within 10 days eventhough we were told that it would take 4-8 weeks when we applied for it. We hope that we can find some productive employment soon.
However, it does take some effort not to panic to see your savings dwindle...
I thank you all in the forum for your guidance and support and eye-openers.
Try thru job agencies first - at least that can bring in some income
thats how i started

Hi vygodsky,
Good that you have finished the initial formalties. Now, can you give us an exact idea of how much you have spent so far in all these out of your settlement funds?
Rgds,
VJ

AS YOU KNOW THE LEAST PREDERABLE QUALIFICATION IS THE MEDICAL QUALIFICATION AS THERE IS SIMPLY NO USE OF IT AND THE CHOISE IS TO DEGRADE YOURSELF TO PARA MEDICAL FIELD.
