Hi,

We had submitted our forms to CIC Mississauga in June 2007 and after the Canada approval our file got transferred to CHC New Delhi in July 2007 and is still under process at CHC New Delhi (about 6 months past).

The delay is on account of background checks (spouse was in Europe for a few years and also in Canada earlier) and that has been going on for about 2 months now and the total processing time is about 6 months.

My question to fellow members on the site is:

Is there anyone with a similar experience (past or current) and could give me an idea of the approximate timelines and wait times in this situation (background checks)?
