Hi Sandeep,

The following information is from the Sponsorship guide:

You may be eligible to sponsor if:

• you have an income that is at least equal to the minimum necessary income, the amount of which is published yearly by the Canadian government. You will have to provide us with documents that show your financial resources for the past 12 months and prove you are financially able to sponsor members of the family class.

This condition does not apply if you are sponsoring only
· your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner who has no dependent children,

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3900E.pdf (Page 7)

You have to fill the form but do not have to worry about your last 12 months financial background.

Hi to all

My son is sponsoring his wife and has started filling all application, done the upfront medical as well, my question is does his wife has to obtain a police clearance now to send with the package as the Police department in India needs a letter from Canadian Embassy/consulate to issue PC. I shall appreciate your quick reply please.

Thanks

Generally, if your son's wife, i.e., your daughter in law, who resides in India, wants a police clearance, she goes to the Senior Superintendent of Police and gets one. Please carry the current Passport when you make such a request. They will note the date on the passport and will do the search for the additional period from the last search and bring it upto date.

Fill out the form and pay the fees and wait for their clearance certificate.

Here is the information under this.

IN India...

Is a police certificate required?
Yes.

How and where do I get one?

Local Requests

Districts other than the Punjab

Contact the local Senior Superintendent of Police/ Superintendent of Police/ Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner of Police, the Additional Commissioner of Police, or the Station House Officer. Please note that police clearance certificates issued by the Regional Passport Office are also acceptable.

Residents of the Punjab.:

Only the Senior Superintendent of Police or the Regional Passport Office may sign a Police Clearance Certificate.

Non-Resident Requests. Contact local BLS Office. :

Contact the Indian embassy or consulate.

INFORMATION FOR YOU, IF YOU WANT TO VERIFY.

PHONE NUMBER : http://www.blsindia-canada.com/contactus.php

Application form : http://www.blsindia-canada.com/forms/HCI-CGI_Police%20Clearance%20Certificate%20form.pdf

This form is not for you. It is used only if the applicant is an NRI and wants a PC certificate for the period he/she has been away from India as an NRI.

I am unable to raise an Indian PCC application here.

Thank u FH, will get a PC from India and submit all to cic Missisauga. My another question is if we do not submit the application for sponsorship and immigrant visa will be returned back or the cic will accept and ask for the PC later?

--------

You have completed pre medical. So you have started the process well. Here is a link to the current available material on the spousal sponsorship. You will get a better handle on all of the matters AFTER YOU READ THE LINK. So, please get the PCC process started and then apply, because they want the spouse to have a clean record.

Good luck.
