Mr. Massood,
My immigration application is approved sponsored by my wife. Buffalo office is asking me to submit my passport to get the immigration visa. They are asking me to land before feb 2006. I have incomplete residency training in USA and my wife is expecting baby later part of january.
1) How can I delay my landing dates as my medicals will expire in feb, 2006.?
2) Can I submit new medicals and request later landing orders.?
Please help me with your kind advises, as I do not want to go through a new application process, which is a big hasel.
Thanking you in anticipation.
you are given one year to land. so get your landing papers . you have one year to land. I would in your place go and get status of landed immigrant immediatly get your PR card and then come back to the states then you have another 3 yrs to return. but to tell you the truth. I would go have the baby there too. medical is free. so its not going to cost you anything but save you a lot of head ache later . because if your kid is born in US after you have your landing -aers you have to sponcer him \\her with a whole new applicaton.
here is what i would do in your place.
1. get my landing papers.
2. go to canada around jan
3. have the baby there
4. come back to US finish off what ever you need to be done.
if you wait too long to get landing papers your application will be null and you will need to start all over again . ( they give 6 months i think for you to submit your medicals

Thank you very much guys for your kind advise. Actually I am in USA on J1 status . So I cant come back on visa revalidation as canadians will a sk me to submit my I94 if i am iimmigrating, plus automatic visa revalidation is risky thing. I am in my last year of Residency training in USA and i do not want to tak eany risk.
My only question :
1) How can I delay the landing process for one more year, as I still do not have the immigrant visa stamped on My passport.
2) what is the process involved for getting the new medicals as Mine will expire in feb ,2006.
I have good health insurance here so I am not woried about medical expenses in USA.
I will wait for your input.
thank you
Hi,
If your visa is stamped on the passport and before landing, if the baby is born, u are supposed to return the visa according to the rules of CIC. It is clearly mentioned in the documents which come with the visa attached Passports and the COPR.
Best is to inform CIC about the arrival of the baby, they would ask you to wait and submit the application for the baby after the baby is born.
So it will delay the landing orders.
Thanks a bunch. It is indeed a great advise. I already had a letter from my wife's doctor. Should I contact the CIC or Buffalo office for upcoming baby.
Again thanks a lot for the input.
Hi,
Send the letter to the office where ur application is filed.
If u had an interview, send it to the office where interview was held.
