Hello Members,
why not we start thinking about an " Investment club ".
I am sure there are lot of people with good investing Knowledge / experience . I happened to see this with every community.
Pls advs if this is a good idea.
A very good idea brought up by Raja. I'm sure there is a huge no. of people who want to invest in some kind of business or the other. But they do not have the knowledge or experience. And people who have knowledge & exp. don't have money to invest. In anyways, all postings here are welcome. Time to rush bye
Shall return with more on this later.
take care.
Ekdum sounding like good idea. Is franchise the show it is worth going to on Jan 14-15 weekend? Yaan bakwas? Anybody ever going to franchise show before?

We need to have atleast 7 - 8 people to get started. The more people with Knowledge of stock markets the better as the success of Investment clubs in based more on Information sharing .
Can you define "Investment Club"? Are you thinking of having people share ideas and experiences about financial investments (mutual funds, stocks, RSPs, GICs, RESPs, etc) or business ventures and ideas, real estate ventures, etc, etc. Or is it pretty much open to all financial discussions at this point?
Is the club going to be online (more practical since we are all over the place within Canada) or at a location?
I am willing to be part of it and I prefer it to be online. Do we use this forum as the communication media for our ideas in the form of a thread or do you have something else in mind?
Let me know and I will see if I can be of further help to enhance your idea.

One of my friends says 'do not invest money in RRSPs'. He invested money over 100K in Mutual funds and near to his retirement total value was 110K.
He strongly opposes RRSPs and he feels that money should be made in either in share market or Real estate.
RRSP SUCKS.
Any idea on this topic please. I am still learning Canadian structure.
how old is this friend to get near retirement?
Assuming he's working in Canada for past 30 yrs.. i.e. from 70s.. how is it that he only saved 100K? What you only get 10% over 30 yr period? even straight US treasury bond.. safest investment vehicle in the world gives 7% avg over 7yr bond .. I don't agree to these figures ...
