My parents have a visitor visa to Canada which is valid from 12-Apr -2005 to 12-Apr 2006. They visited us last year for 2 months and want to come again. Can they fly to canada on 7th Apr when their visa is expiring on 12 apr . Would they get a 6 months stamp from 7 apr onwards.
What does the canada visitor visa expiry date mean , Is that the date you can ask to enter Canada or do u have to exit by that date ..

Yes they can enter Canada anytime before April 12, 2006. That date is just for ENtry. They should obtain a 6 month stamp (which is called the stay stamp).
The Visitor Visa Expiry date is to ENter... the exit date is given by Customs/Immigration on the date the person enters canada.

There must not be any standard procedure in stamping passports. My M.I.L who entered Toronto early this week did not get any stamp for entry. (She can stay here indefinitely? Umm Scary thought
)
I guess no stamp or stamp with no validity date (of stay) still indicates an allowed stay for upto 6 months.
