Hi,
I am in work permit, working in Sick kids. My wife who recently came with me in dependent visa, she is a trained beautician having her own parlor for the last 9 years. She wants to continue the same kind of job here. Can anybody suggest me what to do ? and how to approach for this ? I leave in Downtown toronto.
Bye

approach beauty parlours directly. Not sure of certification required. I am sure there must be some Canadian certification required.
Some people do operate from their residences.
Rgds.

We had researched this earlier.
License is definitely needed to work as Hairdresser. ie any work on Hair.
License is not needed to work as Esthetician (Facials, waxing , threading, etc).
License is needed for operating a business, wether at home or outside.
In BC, a foreign trained esthetician generally will be asked by an employer for canadian credentials. There is no licence or association for Estheticians, however from what I understand, competition is very strong (there are many in the market) and canadian trained individuals may be considered first.
