Hello
I am on a work permit and am working with Agriculture & Agri-food
Canada. I also have a multiple entry (W-1) visa and work permit which expires on 21st Jan, 2004. Meanwhile, I have to attend a meeting in San Diego starting 10-15 Jan, 2004. Since the dates are close, to avoid US visa rejection my employer wants me to extend my visa and work permit now. I understand that renewal of work permit is done by sending application to Case Processing Centre, Vegreville AB. Since I have to travel out of country, I would need to extend my multiple entry visa as well. Would my application to extend the work permit would automatically extend my Visa also? Or I need to apply for Visa extension separately? I am told that one needs to have the permit extended first and the visa extension application have to be sent to Canadian consulate in Seattle. Please suggest what action I should take on this regard. Also how early can I apply for the extension of visa and permit.
Thankyou
They are two different applications. It's too early to apply though. You can try anyway.
