Hi All,
I and my wife sponsored my wife's parents for visitor visa. My wife is on family way. They have been asked to appear for an interview in a couple of days.
Just wondering if anybody can put some light on what kind of interview they take, what questions they ask, how one should prepare for the interview.
I request you to please share your experiences/comments.
Any tips?

No personal experience but I have been told, not to mention about your wife being pregnant. And that they should not mention that their reason to come here is to help.

Here are some questions you can expect.
1. What is the purpose of your visit ?
2. Who will be paying for the cost of the trip ?
3. How long will be staying there?
4. Do you have any other realtives here in India ?
like sons. daughters etc.
4. What is your occuipation India ?
All this sort of general questions will be asked.
The bottom line is the consulate officer will make sure that your parents have "enough ties" back home, so that he will be of the opinion that you parents will leave Canada after the intended visit period.
so for this will check / might ask for any properties you/your parents are having. Bank balances, income sources etc etc.
other relations in home country etc. Please ask them to carry all relevant documents, bank statements, property documents, etc to show and proove that
they have enough ties back home.

I agree with Aashu. If your parents will mention that they are going for post delivery help - they will get a rejection and reason they will get - Canada has very good facilities for Post-delivery.

Just wondering that even if Canada has good post delivery facilities, they cannot give emotional support which is so much needed by the would be mom which only I guess parents can provide. So may be in interview if they say that we want to share these moments with our daughter's family, that might do the trick. Any comments?
