I have posted the same under "ask the immiration expert" also, But due to urgency I'm asking here as well. Sorry for duplication

Hi,
I went to Canada in 2004 for a year. My stay got extended in Canada and I received a new work-permit as my old work-Permit was expired, which is valid till Oct 2006. But as I was in Canada only, so couldn’t (didn’t) get my visa stamped. Then I came back to India 4 months back. But now I need visa to reenter Canada, even though I have a valid work-permit.
I had applied for PR in Canada last year while I was in Canada.
I am applying for Visa from India now. There is a Question (number 19->e), which says “Applied for any Canadian Visas” (e.g. PR, student, worker, temporary resident (visitor), temporary resident permit?). I’m confused what should I mention in that? I can say yes for this Question and give my WorkPermit number (old as well the current valid), but should I also give my PR file number as well?
Would that have any effect on my visa application
If I don’t tell my file number would that have any effect ? I don’t want to give the file number as my employes doesn’t know about my PR application and I don’t
want to let them know as well.
Please suggest…!
Thanks,
Rahul

There is no harm in giving you work permit number there as it is a valid one. If you have applied for PR it your personal decision and has nothing to do with the employer. The government just wants to know whether you will come to canada and have a job.
I dont see any problem putting the work permit and the PR application number out there.

Thanks dear.
but these are 2 different things...My employer is in india and are sending me at client site...If they come to know about my PR aplication, they wouldn't send me as they wouldnt want to take the risk where I may leave them while at client's site...:-( so they may not even submit my application if I mention my PR aplication number.
On the other hand, If I don't mention my application number then Canadian embassy may reject my VISA aplpication or may call me for an interview...Interview would still be ok but rejection would not only make me sit in india only, I may lose job at my present company as well, as they may claim that I have hidded a few things from them which has resulted in my visa rejection
So really don't know what I gonna do...!

Rahul !
