Of course, each of the posts above, even the single liners, have a valid concern behind it. So take care.

And there is no doubt that you will be successful, it is only matter of avoiding hardships others have faced. That is what Canadiandesi is all about.

Dear All,
Thank you very much for your suggestions.
Appreciate your responses.

Can any of you tell me,
How Open are the Candian Employers when it comes to
Employing someone form outside without physical presence in Canada.

What are the chances (i know its difficult but What i would like to know
is , is it Rare and very abnormal.)

Like employing remotely by phone interview ?..

Thanks again.

In a true sense, whether you get hired over the phone as opposed to an interview in person really depends on how much in-demand your skills are. Its not Canadian employers, but the market that drives this. For example, if a recruiter is looking for a job desc. that is very difficult for him to fill in Canada, he would be willing to entertain you over the phone. And if you can impress him, you could possibly get an offer.

But why would someone hire you without ever meeting you if they can as easily find someone locally?

Generally speaking, it is extremely difficult. I know a couple of cases where people got jobs (in IT) without landing, however both were in the states (which is much easier for employers here to process because of proximity and similarities in culture). Don't think its impossible though.

You'll only find out if you try. You never know, something just may click!

Hi dhumbak,
I lived in Singapore for 2 years and then moved to USA and I regret that decision.
Even though I made more in USA but expenditure is high as well.
You have to pay high taxes, social security taxes, auto insurance premiums, some portion of health care insurance and there is no job stability here. Apartment rents are very high in area where there are jobs and same is the case with Real estate. Its not very easy to settle in North America and not good for career as you don't get any promotions and all unless you are exceptionally good.
I worked in many countries and came to conclusion that North America is not very good when it comes to saving money. I am stuck here now because I have to complete 10 years in order to get social security benefits. Singapore is a good option to make money and also gulf countries are also good but its better to settle down in Singapore and get Singaporean PR Card and eventually citizenship if you are interested.
I like lot of things about Singapore. Below are the following.
Easy to get PR card.
Very Close to India.
Lots of people of Indian Origin.
Clean city with good law and order.
Good affordable healthcare.
Open economy.
Singaporean passport is seen as valuable as no visa is required for lot of countries.
Lots of jobs.
Lots of Indian stalls in food courts selling Roti Prata;).
There are no initial setup troubles in Singapore.

Regards

Ram

Below are some more things, which I like about Singapore
Excellent transportation
Good education
Low tax slabs
Very safe (I use to sleep in taxi from Airport to my apartment)
Good public parks for family.
Malaysia is very close so you can take long-term visa and visit often.
Technology savvy country so you will see latest technology everywhere

Some negative points
Very small country (You can travel from one end to another in one hour)
Sometimes it’s boring
Young males are forced to serve Armed forces

ram,

Your analysis abt USA is 100% right. I spent more than 5 yrs with hardly any savings.

Glad that u liked Singapore. I love to work there. Tried number of times, spent a week there while vacationing in far east. Direct flight to Chennai and B'lore. Cant beat that. Also the proximity to India.

Only -ve thing is that its congested. High rents. 3BR apartment is a luxury if one can afford. Also the rude Chinese.
