I agree with you indione. Why such a non sense issue on CD, which has no relations, I think with the CD basic idea.

Well, a lot of leaders from Indian independence movement lived abroad and were politically active. And with dual citizenship rules, it makes perfect sense to do something about politicians meddling with what I see as a free market economy and freedom of private enterprinuers in India to run business the way they want.

As I said, I left India because of reservations. Now for the last few years I see a little hope that if I ever go back to India, my children will have some opportunity thanks to private sector. But our government policies are killing that hope too.

IF I HAD PROPER OPPORTUNITIES, I WOULD HAVE NEVER LEFT INDIA AND MY OLD PARENTS TO STRUGGLE IN THIS PLACE. IN EFFECT, I ALWAYS FELT I WAS A SECOND CLASS CITIZEN IN INDIA.

HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOUR PARENTS ARE BIASED TOWARDS YOUR BROTHER? IT IS THE SAME EXACT FEELING I FELT TOWARDS INDIA. I still love India except that I still feel I am a second class citizen there. I don't see how I am different from a refugee except that my life is not threatened in India

What our government is doing is no different from what Robert Mugabe did in Zimbabwe although to a lesser extent.

If you start hiring based on caste, how can you compete with countries like China where you don't have all these problems? Most Indian software companies already have operations in China. Instead of going down on quality they may prefer to hire China.

It is the private sector that is lifting India out of poverty. I don't mind government providing scholarships, books and living expenses to students from scheduled castes and backward castes. But to reservations in jobs is like killing a goose that lays golden eggs.

TK's reply :
I generally keep out of these Caste arguments b'cos CD is not a platform for these kind of discussions but the above statement caught my attention.
How would you feel if your brother was handicapped? (this is a hypothetical situation only). Would n't you allow your parents to shower more love and care towards your handicapped brother. If you feel that you must get the same attention as your brother in this kind of situation then you are a hypocrite.
End of the story
TK

It is like saying Ambedkar is not Indian for riasing his voice against social injustice.

It is high time Indian politicians stop this madness of reservations for children of rich ST, SC, BC doctors, engineers, IAS officers etc.

Whoever is critisizing me is obviously has reservations back home. If you are from a poor FC family then you would understand what I say.
