I have applied for Canadian Immigration in the Independent Category. I completed my medicals in July '03 and am waiting for my passport request for visa stamping. I am getting married in 3 weeks, and I understand that I will have to inform the consulate of the change in status. I was wondering how the change in status will affect my application. If I am not able to land in Canada before I get married, what would be my best course of action ? Is there something I can do at this stage to make sure no delays are caused due to the change in status ?
Please advise.
postpone your wedding.
There's no way out. You'll have to inform immigration and it will add 1-2 months to your processing if your visa is about to be issued.

Go ahead and get married and once you get your visa simply make your landing and stay for a while and then collect the immigaration kit and send it to your wife who then complete all the requirement and in 3 to 4 months time she will be with you, happy!
