I got an offer for a contract job with a well known wireless operator , I have no Canadian experience and this was my very first interview here in Canada . Starting pay is 74K. So the market is not that bad, I'm landed immigrant since 2004 but have been out of the country most of the time , now planning to move permanently ..

Regards,

Congratulations buddy.

However you may be providing false hope to some people who come straight from india especially in regulated professions. You don't wanna send them off in a wild goose chase. I know couple of people who came in 2001 thinking that they can get jobs as easily as their friends who came in 1999 and ended up in labor jobs.

Instead of just saying you got a job with 74K in the first interview, it would be helpful if you post details like:
1.What field you are in and what is your specialization/expertise
(e.g. Field - I.T. ; expertise - SAP Financial consultant)

2.Do you have any experiance outside India ? If so, how many years?
(e.g.: 2 years in UAE and 3 years in the US)

3.How many rounds of interviews you had and any other tips you can offer.

Well right , here are the details , I'm an Electrical Engineer by profession , working in the Telecoms area for last 8 years .. my success is mainly because of networking here , someone working for the same company provided a strong recommendation to the hiring manager .

1.What field you are in and what is your specialization/expertise
(e.g. Field - I.T. ; expertise - SAP Financial consultant)

Telecommunications- Wireless

2.Do you have any experiance outside India ? If so, how many years?
(e.g.: 2 years in UAE and 3 years in the US)

3.How many rounds of interviews you had and any other tips you can offer.
