hi,
i am a university student in montreal. The reasoning behind posting is that we (my family and I) did the citizenship test and passed it on the 17th of november 2005 as we applied as a family.
After the test, the officer handed us residency questionnaires. We filled out the questionnaires and sent them in 3 weeks. However, we just called the cic, here in montreal, and they said that we have to appear for a hearing with the judge most probably in january.
Basically, my dad works abroad and comes here every 2 months (he has completed roughly around 400 or more days). But, my mom,my two brothers and i (have been attending school and universites respectively) have been living here for 5 years. Moreover, we have been paying and filing our taxes as we own a condo and a car.
So i was just wondering if you have an idea of what the outcome is going to be based on your experience or expertise: is the judge going to grant us all with the citenship and ask my dad to fulfill the days asap, or is the judge only going to grant my mom and us (my brothers and i) citizenship and tell my dad to complete his days and then apply, or is he going to tell us to all wait for the citizenship until my dad completes his days. Moreover, how long does it take to recieve the judges decision after the hearing...it would be highly appreciated if u could provide some guidlines based on this case.
really appreciate it,
Blitz walker
The family members who have done their residency requirement will be eligible for citizenship . The Dad may or may not get it (depends upon the judge )

We will find a way or we will make one
so from what i can understand is that...eventhough we applied as a family...the family members who have met the residency requirements will be eligible to get the citizenship right away and my dad might and might not....are there any pointers that any of you are aware of that could help my dad get it right away...and i was also wondering if we perform the oath right after the hearing...or do we have to come back on a later date...if we have to come back on a later date...how long does that take in general.
Appreciate it
