Hello everybody and a hearty namaskar from Prashant shinde, one of the aspiring immigrant to Canada.
I was relieved by one of the senior desis yesterday since he assured me that I am coming to the land of call centres.
I have filed for the immigration in the month of august,2005. totally unaware of the time required for the processing of the case. I want to know:
1. what would be the amount of money that I would need to carry to Canada?
2. would you suggest me to stay in a guest house?
3. how is the climate in Toronto?
4. what is the time frame for getting the landing papers from the time you file for immigration?
5. shall I accompany my wife? Can she work in Canada cos she is an undergraduate? she has 3 years experience in a call center as a senior advisor. can she get a job in a call center in canada?
6. do I need to buy a car and are cars expensive in Canada?
7. shall I buy a house as soon as I get a job?
8. what is the monthly expense in Canada if I am not eating outside?
9. what is the salary that I can get in a call center?
10. how do I save on traveling to Canada?
i am damn sure that all my questions are going to be answered.
Inbound call centres are paying from 11$ to 13$ per hour in Toronto for newcomers.
It would be a very low salary to make ends meet here. I am wondering if you could afford buying a home.
Hi Vel1,
Do you know any place where they accept new comers as call center representatives? Do they provide training?
Thanks.
i hope i am not boring you guys with my queries.
Most of your questions have already been answered in previous threads. Spend some time and search; you will find detailed information.
I'm afraid at call center wages your future would be rather bleak. Forget about a house; you would be sharing a basement with other people.
You are looking at a period of over 5 years to get your papers processed. Don't mean to be pessimistic here but this is the reality. Better to know it now than face a huge disappointment down the road.
correct me if i am wrong. if i can make cad $500 in a week in a call center job. how can i not rent out a house???
i am confused.
Your first post talked of buying a house. Renting is of course cheaper.
Search for cost of living threads. I think for two people you are looking at close to $2000 monthly.
Here is a good thread regarding the cost of living:
