Hi,
I have just landed in Canada few days back. I am a Senior HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Airconditioning) Sales Engineer with 11 years experience currently working for one of the leading American HVAC manufacturer in Dubai. However, I am wondering how to start my job search in Canada (in HVAC industry). I have already noted some job recruiters in Canada. I would like to know whether anyone is aware of the job market in HVAC industry in Canada and whether my profile have any hopes for getting a job.
Request your inputs/contacts on the above.
Regards,
Kannan Bhaskar
I believe that job prospects within the skilled trades is pretty good. The HVAC industry has an association and you can get a lot of contacts using their database.
A number of HVAC companies partner with local utilities focusing on different conservation and other programs. Do PM me for more info

Hi KANNAN BHASKARAN,
There are other allied services that go with Air conditioning, Such as
Heating and Ventilation, Oil and Gas burner and Boiler installations
and similar services that are used in conjunction with A/C, for the
climate we are in. If you are not proficient in these fields, it will be
worth contemplating upon taking an appropriate education, which
will speed up the prospects of obtaining a suitable employment
under some one who will provide you with training and advancement,
in the field, you are looking to be employed.

If and when you get the Canadian certification and can get an equivalent one in the USA, then,
you can open up your own firm either in Canada and/or USA, and work for yourself or hire others to assist you or parner with. There are previous arrivals in your field here and you will have to do some digging to get that info.
Good Luck.
Freddie.
Hi Kal and Freddie,
Thanks for your reply. The information was very useful.
Just for your information, I have the experience of working for a similar market (like Canada) in the 14 countries of the former Soviet Union including Russia and was deputed in Ukraine for almost 6 months. So, I have a fair knowledge and experience of heating and ventilation systems for the cold countries.
Will start hunting for jobs at the earliest and will keep you posted incase of any further queries.
Cheers,
Kannan
