Hi,
I am planning to land in Toronto by October end. Since my family members are planning to leave Canada after 2 weeks, I wonder if it will be possible to get PR card within that time. I would like to know, what will be the usual time of issuing PR card after we land. I will be having a local adress (my relative's) in Toronto when I land.
Zubs
Ideally no. In most cases at least 1 month.
Should account for 3 to 4 weeks atleast, as per the current process.

Like you - a Canadian .. but still DESI
Hi
I checked into Canada on 1st August. Requested the lady officer in Immigration department for early issuance of PR card. She refused on my face saying that there was no such provision. CIC web site says 4 to 6 weeks. The lady said 8 weeks. When you call their toll free number starting with 1800, the recorded voice says 16 weeks. I know it is so confusing. Same here, I also wanted to come back to India. Thus lost all the hopes. But suddently one fine day, I received the PR cards for all my family members. It was a pleasent surprise. It took around 20 days. Perhaps the lady officer helped. All the best to you too...

There is no pleasure in having nothing to do; The fun is in having lots to do and not doing it.
A friend of mine who landed in Toronto in August, got the PR cards for his family in three weeks. Hope this helps.
Yes.. Thanks to you all.. I guess I can expect it around 1 month time
