Hello Masoodji,
My wife sent her passport to CHC-NEWDELHI on july20th,2006.Till now we havent received her passport back.Last week we sent a mail to CHC-NEWDELHI and we even got a reply from CHC-DELHI stating that few more background checks are being done and the background check has been handed over to outside agencies. The officer also mentioned that the time limit is not known as the backgrounds checks are being handled by outside agencies ...but the minimum time limit is 4months.My wife has both CANADAvisitor visa(1year expired in july,2006) and US visitorvisa(5yrs multiple).
My question is:
1)How much time will they generally take to complete the back ground checks?(Were there any such cases before??)
2)Is the back ground check due to the visitor visa stamps available on my wifes passport?
W e are a bit worried because its been almost 70days that the passport is with the embassy and more over my wife is staying alone in india because her parents came to US as her sister was expecting...
Would appreciate if you can get back to me.
Thankyou,
Kumar
Hello Imcan20061,
i can answer part of your question... hope it helps or just consider it as more info..
we went thru this same replies from Delhi.. (well they cut/paste same to all)
but, on the other hand i did contact CSIS where the Delh CHC requests for check.. so, u can contact CSIS directly by phone and ask for your file status with them..and the person will ask you to fax all the file details(File number/Persons full name/ and D.O.B)
Ask the CSIS to give you the fax number which you have to.
CSis Does not take that long.. ITs Delhi CHC blaming of Csic for delay. they take there own time to enter in the system.
Meanwhile the CSIS will mail or for some people they even tell right away that its been done and they have notified DELHI CHC.
so,below is the Link of CSIS..
To follow up with CSIS, you must forward your complaint in writing (in a formal letter) to the Director of CSIS at:
Director
Canadian Security Intelligence Service
P.O. Box 9732, Station T
Ottawa, ON K1G 4G4
The director must respond to your letter within 30 days of receipt.
If you are not satisfied with the Director's response, you can then submit another complaint to the watchdog agency that oversees CSIS, the federal Security Intelligence Review Committee (SIRC). Their website is:
