Hi

I just arrived in Windsor along with my wife and 10 month old son. We would like to meet some indian families. I am wondering about social networking of indians here. If somebody can throw light on this I shall be grateful.

Just hang out at Bhullar Plaza and you'll get to meet a lot of desis.

I live very near to Bhullar Plaza, its not really a platform to meet and talk to people. For that matter I see many indians everywhere. If you know some assciations involved in cultural programs or such activites let me know.

I am thinking of moving to Windsor. I would like to know about schooling standard and overall statisstics like percentage of indian, chinese, african american etc. Is there any site for this?

How much is the average cost of living? what are the prices of midsize townhomes?

CDs in windsor please thorw some light.

Also please provide info on which areas to live in and which to avoid ? I have heard this Bhullar guy also rents out apartments on short term leases?-Is it true ?

Also are there carpools of people going from Windsor- Detroit ? If people work in same area close by they can carpool and save on toll etc ? does anyone know about that ?

I don't know much about schooling statistics. But I heard good schools are there in south windsor area. this link may give more info http://www.gecdsb.on.ca/

cost of living is very high compared to Europe and Us and other parts of Canada.

housing : good aprtments single BR: 700-750, double BR : 850-900. a portion of individual house may be cheaper, it may start from as low as 550.

if you are talking of buying a house it starts from $80000

regarding areas to live: thumbrule is westside of ambassodar bridge is not recommended. and also near ford.

regarding carpooling you may check classifieds in windsorstar or start a thread in this forum

Might I ask , How old are you and where do you work?
I am in windsor -detroit area .. we can start CD group here.. I have a feeling , with the retrogression the way it is.. lot of US based folks are coming to this town .. kinda like ppl who stand below a big tree till the storm passes
