Sorry to say but that is not possible, if your college/job is located anywhere in the GTA/Vancouver/Montreal area, you are not eligible for a 2 year work permit. Following are the conditions for a 2 years work permit:

1) The college has to be located outside of the above mentioned areas (even if you are studying in a campus located outside of GTA/Vancouver/Montreal but the main campus of the college is located in the 3 cities, you cannot apply for a 2 year permit)

--and--

2) The job also has to be located outside of the 3 mentioned cities.

3) Also, the duration of the workpermit cannot exceed that of the porgram, so if you've studied in a program whose duration was one year , you can only be issued a one year pg work permit.

Good luck!

I am almost done with my studies & i have finished my studies in college located in GTA. Is there anyway i can get 2 years work permit. Let's say if i apply for the job anywhere in canada except for the GTA, Vancover, Montreal etc.
Thanks

I agree with blink_guy's reply.
A friend of mine got 2 years work permit even his college was in GTA and employment was not in GTA. I just cant believe but he got lucky.

Friends as we have already discussed, and i have received a mixed response for this query from many friends. Can anyone come with a confirmed response because its not just the matter of luck as Immigration department do not issue 2 years permits that easily to any international students who had finished his studies in GTA or vancover area. There has to be a reason for this.

Friends my college is almost finished and i am planning to get a job outside of these areas to attain 2 years work permit, however i have graduated from a college located in GTA ( 2 Yrs Post - Secondary Diploma).

Can anyone please come up with a solid reasoning or any good source of information cause it can be very handy for international students to have 2 Yrs work permit , this can further help in looking for arranged employment & finally filling for the PR.

thanks everyone for being so generous & kind to share your knowledge.

navdeep

Well.. .. All we can say is "Try your luck"
Once you have job offer, I would recommend you to go and get work permit on the same day at local office rather than applying to vegreville, AB by mail.
It will definitely cut down your stay period in Canada but there are more chances of getting 2 yrs WP.
Consider it as an advise ( not LEGAL advise )
