First do you have a library card. It needs ID's to get one. So, be prepared for the same when you get there. The library and the card will certainly substitute for a good friend. They also help you with research, if you meet with a good librarian.
Find the nearest branch of the library. They have special publications currently available for people desirous of opening up new business. One such book is, Don't laugh, "Starting a new business for Dummies". There are many more and too numerous to mention, but you should make a trip to get to know the system. There are hand outs that you can carry out when you leave that place.

BDC, holds group seminars and discussions at different times of the day and week, to meet with the needs of those who work. There are other seminars held by private interests and one such is MLM. You can attend and get to know the fundamentals through them. If it suits your needs, then, join them. But do take a breather before you jump in. Do not sign for or put your john henry on any paper, before you consult a professional. (Lawyer)

Good luck with your search. If you have a good personality and a strong command of the language and a great network of people, you will surely get a good start. It is not your GUTs that will get you going, but the connections you have in this new environs.
