Hi,
I have just applied for PhD in Management at UFT and York University. I want to ask if anyone has a experience applying at these univ...i am worried if they have alot of competition and i wont get admitted....can anyone advise if they are flexible in their requirements as i didnt meet the GMAT score required...600 is required and i got 570...
thanks
Here is my general comment: not specifically related to UoT or York
For PhD Admissions, most important thing is to find a suitable advisor who is willing to accept you for the proposed topic of research.
Even if your grades are bad and your GMAT score is below average, you need to convince your advisor (and possibly admission commmittee) that you are genuinely interested in research for the topic proposed.
I will suggest you to surf through the profiles of various professors , try to understand their recent research interests and contact a couple of them to make sure that they show some interest in what you have mentioned in your proposal.
Thank you so much for your advice. Actually the PhD program i have applied for has 3 yrs of course work...and there is no proposal required at application stage...so i didnt get a chance to contact any profs...i was only required to send in satement of interest...hmmm i am just hoping for the best....thanks anyways..
