hi cd members
anyone has any home made remedies to get rid
of pests like cockroaches and red ants in an apartment
the apartment is clean but surprisingly i see these rare appearances
that bother me
i want to keep them at bay
any ideas will be appreciated.

Boric Acid mixed with equal part of sugar sprinkled in all the corners, under sinks, near wash tubs, toilet and any where you see cock roaches and ants will help you get rid of these nasty insects in a couple of weeks. Boric Acid is the same powder which we used to play Carrom Board in India and could be available with either Home Hardware or a Chemist. In the absence of Boric Acid, Baking Soda (again mixed with sugar) can also be used effectively.
Also make sure to keep the apartment clean and there should be no food left overs in the sink or any where and that there is no water in sink as Cockroaches can survive without food but would not survive without water.
I am sure that these home based remedies (which are safe for kids and pets) would help you getting rid of cockroaches and insects.
