Hi,
I am a landed immigrant on PR Status and living in windsor. I have applied for US Visitor Visa in Ottawa US Embassy bcoz, i could not find any date available in toronto for next 6 weeks. But then i came to know from someone that I am not eligible to go Ottawa embassy b'coz i live in windsor, Ontario. Is this correct or my application can be handled by ottawa too as it's in ontario.

You are eligible to apply in Toronto, only, except under special circumstances.
Please call their service number and verify that it's ok or not.
I had the same issue once and had called.
They told me that I can't apply in Ottawa and must wait for a date in Toronto.

For sure the officials at the embassy will always say that I should go to toronto.

But when was the lat time you called to Ottawa embassy? One of my friend went to ottawa for visa stamping in May'2007 and there he got his visa stamped with no problem.

So I just wanted to confirm that still the rules are same as that of May '07.

I know someone who went to ottowa to get his visa stamping..

If asked at Ottawa consulate u should say u could not get any open appointments at Toronto and tried for a long time..

i have seen that the Toronto Embassy is usually full unless u try at a particular time of the day and it fills out in less than an 1hr..

hey dudewheresmycar do you know what time the appointments generally open up?

I also live in windsor.I contacted ottawa consulate and they said I should go to toronto consulate.And I got US visa from toronto.The best time to get appointments is early morning.
