Hi,
First of all, I am really thrilled to find this site.
Its a great help for people wanting to move to Canada.
I am Jatin from Mumbai. But currently I am working In Nigeria as a Financial Controller.I am CA from India having about 3 yrs of experience.
I am wish to immigrate canada. My concern is that, I do not want to leave my current job here and relocate to Canada without having a confirmed offer. Thats because I already have a good job here and would not want to trade it for "no job".
My plan is to finish the formalities first and keep trying for jobs, and only when I get a confirmed offer I will leave my current job and relocate to Canada.
Could anybody here please let me know about the current job market in Canada for Accounts & Finance and how I can go about finding a job.
Is it possible to look for a job from here and get a confirmed offer.
If I could find a job by the time I come there it would be great since I would be saving a lot of expense.
Regards,
Jatin
Canada is a land of opportunities - but only for those who are willing to take the related risks.
If you are not sure now whether to apply or not, you will first have to do an introspection to find an answer to the question - what attracts you to Canada. Once you find answer to that, other things will follow. However, if you are afraid to lose a well paying job - and because of that you do not wish to relocate, you can decide that only once you have got approval for migration in your hands - which can take from 18 to 48 months.
So - first reason with yourself why you want to come to Canada - what is it that you do not get in Nigeria which you can get in Canada. Once you know it - compare it with what you already have in Nigeria (like a well paying job and a comfortable life with lot of household help available etc. etc. etc.), and MIGHT not have in Canada - and decide what is more important for you.
The answer that you get will give you the reason for applying or NOT applying.

Hi Chandresh
Thanks for your reply. I want immediate landing in the canada. Is there any way I can be thru. The possible ways with me what I think are Study visa or Migration as a Skilled Worker (which may take 18 to 48 months as advised Am I right ) . So easiest way is to go as a sudent. I can register for CGA,CMA CA course in canada in which my degree got validations and so some exemptions in the papers. I can also get some small job in my area as I understand that as a student I can go for some kind of practical training in the area of my study. And I understand that once I land there I can always try for a better prospects and suppose I get Canadian degree it will be much easier for me to settle down there . Pl. confirm my understanding. Pl. let me also know what r my chances for getting jobs there first as a CA and secondly as a Student. Pl. advise.
