Hello All,

I just checked the status of my application online on CIC website it said a decision has been made on my file and CIC will let me know about this. I was suppose to hear about my interview or if they waive it then medical examinations, but they didnt ask for any of these and made a decision. Does this happen? what does this mean. Any input will be appreciated.
Thanks

Tariq

Decision Made can mean any type of decision made - not necessarily interview or medical decision.
They may have made a decision that you need a language test, or don't need one.
Until you receive written notification from CHC, don't assume anything.

Thanks Pratickm for your reply,

Well i have all ready given IELTS test and did submit the results too. I thought a lot and all i can come up with is that probably they rejected my file. I mean if they had asked for medicals or interview which r the next steps the status would have been related to that on the website but it says decision made. and they cant waive the medicals for sure so my guess is they rejected my file. I hope not but if you or any one else has something else to share do let me know.

thanks

tariq

Please do not panic like this - there is nothing to indicate that your file has been rejected outright.
The only time a file is usually rejected outright upon initial assessment is if you are falling short of the required points.
You are simply jumping to conclusions.
CIC online system has a small set of canned status messages and any one message is used to represent a variety of states of the applications.
Decision Made represents a variety of different types of decisions and scenarios.
It might mean that they have decided to waive the interview, or have decided to schedule an interview.
Wait until you receive the official notification.
And then either panic or celebrate.

Decision means they have seen your file & taken the decision ( not necessarily a final decision) on what the next step is ..... it can be refusal , call for interview or medicals ..... they cant waive medicals .... they can only waive interview ... so hold on till you will hear from them soon ...... best of luck..

I think it's time for CIC to change this clause 'Decision Made'. I mean, it's too generic. Unless you get a personalise communication from them, you're in a fix, and stress takes over. If they have issued visa and sent the same to the applicant's address, they should mention the same. Something like - Visa Processed, Application refused, Medicals required, Interview required, English test required etc.

I can understand your situation Tariq. But, if your application never had any issues then do not worry. It's gonna be positive. They never refuse the applications, without letting you know first about what they require. If an applicant is failed to provide the required information, then after a certain time and wait they refuse it and send a letter. In this case, the application is fully aware of where he/she lacked.

Pray/hope for the best. I am sure, it's all positive.

Wishing you all the very best :)

Preet...

Thanks every one for your replies. I appreciate it a lot. i totally agree CIC shoudl be more precise with their status messages on their website. I was only assuming that my case has been rejected coz my case was not that strong. i mean i just made it to the passing mark. any ways i guess i have to wait and see what happens. again thanks a lot eveyr one for your replies.
