Hello,
I'm a student who is planning to finish my Masters studies by the end of this year (in a US university), and move to Canada. Being a Computer Science student, I would want to seek a programmer/software developer type job.

I've never had industry experience before, but in my academics, I have a good record of projects that involved skills in Java, Database tech and Data analysis.

I just wanted to get an idea on how difficult it will be for me to find a job, given my skill set and that I have a US degree. Some info on peak hiring periods during the year, and cities to target in my job search will also be very helpful to me.

Thank you.

why do you want to Canada? US jobs offer much better rates. I am saying because we were in toronto,Canada for 7 years and now in USA. We find USA better.

The reason is that I have a PR - status in Canada, and I don't want to lose it. I figured out, from a long-term viewpoint, I should rather be in Canada for next 2-3 years than anywhere else. Maybe after that, I can look for jobs in other countries.

dereliction,
Your best bet would be to look at standard job sites and applying from the US. You may also look at the jobs threads/postings on this board.
IT jobs are available all over Canada, though a majority of the companies are based in Toronto/Ottawa and Vancouver as well.
Generally it is more difficult to get a position in Canada compared to the US but obviously not impossible. You may also want to move to Canada and then look for positions.
