my mother is arriving in US as a green card holder,
She intends to visit me and stay with me in Canada
My question :1 ) How long can she stay with me in Canada with her green card status?
2)My options to cover her for medical insurance for her stay with me?
3) Can I apply for her PR while she is with me here in canada? how long does it take to process

Hi,

Your Mother can stay in canada for a max period of 6 months and for Upto 24 months with a re entry permit .

She will not need a canadian visa to enter canada but she will need the actual GC which will take some time to get her after her landing ...

U drive to the nearest US borders, drive across, and turn around return back but she should not extend her out of country status for more then 6 months also at all times she will be a resident of some state in the USA and will be visiting u the border people ask too many questions..

You Can still take a chance and apply for ur Mothers PR Card but these day It take 3 to 5 yrs for Parents visa.

Also There is a risk to her US Green Card as one can not hold a GC & PR .

Could you please clarify this doubt?
I have multiple entry visit visa to U.S. issued by American Consulate in India.
Now I hold Canadian PR. If I want to visit U.S from Canada, does the same restriction as Indian Travellers are facing apply to me?
Usually they restrict Indian travellers not to make frequent visit with in short period. But as a Canadain Permanent Resident, can I visit USA frequently or not?
Please share your experience.

Can you please guide me on the health insurance you obtained for your wife during her stay in Canada?, I am looking fr one as my mother is > 70+, that is one other factor I need to address to , thanks again for your reply.
