I met with a few friends of mine for a drink last evening and couple of them told me that they are planning to buy a motorbike for next summer for recreation purpopses. They were pursuading me to get one as well to form a group. though i enjoy bike ridinig, it has been over 13 yrs since I rode a bike and I now i have my doubts abt its feasibility. if anyone came and told me to buy a motorbike 13 yrs ago I would have done so in a heartbeat, but now I am thinking twice or even more than that.
Looking at the hihgways and the way people drive, a motorbike seems to be a dangerous proposal or is it just that i have melowed down and lost my sense of adventure.
Does anyone own a motorbikr in this group. pls give your opinions.
cheers

"Yanksingh" from here seems to be an avid biker. I am sure he'll reply soon...if not you can PM him...
Thanks for your response Raj. So did you get a bike yet. If so, which one.
Cheers

I will be starting my hunt early next spring. I plan to start with the Yamaha virago.
MOTOR BIKES.
Mamas in saris and with two little tots too, that was a balancing act, it was a surprise to see them on one of the National Highways in India, riding with Dad. Here we see just the two and they all are fully clad in their leathers, pants and jackets with helmets and visors. They hold their speed and they never ride behing a truck, because of the stones that fly from under their tires. You can't dodge those bullets.
I also hold a safe distance from them, if I am behind them.
On a few rainy days and dark nights, I see them beneath the underpass (Flyovers) taking a breather.
I have said this many a times, "Four wheels are better than two" and I will leave it at that.
Hope you find a good bargain like a few that were searching for one here. I am posting it here.

Freddie.
Awesome rsk, I’m glad there we got one more desi in the sport. Trust me it's real fun riding bikes here. I know that 13 yrs is long time but you can always start from the basics. Take starter classes which will refresh your skills and develop new too.
Remember bikes here are way more powerful than what we have back home. So I will suggest you to start with something smaller engine and make your progress up there. I know all your friends/relatives will say start with any bike and you will be fine. But trust me if you want to enjoy the real riding you wanna start with the bike you are comfortable with. If you want to know anything else feel free to contact me.
Raj is your virago 250 or higher n what year???
