Hi All!!!
Seasons Greetings!!!

My wife and son are coming to Canada. My son is studying in eleventh grade in India. I expect him to start grade twelve in Canada from the September session.
Is it necessary for him to finish his eleventh finals from India? I beleive there is some summer school concept here, so he can join eleventh here and then move to 12.
Any suggestions please? Can anyone recommend any good High School in Etobicoke?

You have to send your son to Toronto soon after he complets Class 11 to enroll for summer classes, which I understand, are conducted by schools individually. You may contact school to find out whether they admit your son in Grade 12 during last term of 2007-08 academic year so that he can take up few subjects of grade 12.

The school system in Canada is rather different from India. Students earn credits in various subjects from Grade 9 onwards. One has to have certain number of credits to graduate from High School. If these credits are insufficient then one has various options for completing the requirement..like Summer School, Night School and Online Classes. Many students do both Grade 11 and Grade 12 courses at the same time. When your son applies to a High school, they will evaluate him and guide him as well. Good Luck!
