Hi friends,
I moved to Canada on March 27, 2005 and lived here till September 27, 2006. Since then I have been in India but now a possible business oppurtunity seems to be coming up which may require me to move back to Canada. I understand that I have to be physically present in Canada for 2 years out of 5 i.e. 730 days. Since the business oppurtunity is still under discussion stage I want to calculate the date by which I will have to move to Canada to retain my PR status.
My calculation is as under:
PR status valid from 27/3/2005 to 26/3/2010
Days stayed in Canada: 547 days from 28/3/2005 to 26/9/2006.
Balance days required to stay in Canada: 183 days.
From what I understand, I have to get back into canada 183 days before 26/3/2010. Am i right in this understanding?
Therefore, latest day of arrival in Canada: 25/9/2009.
Is my calculation correct?
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Amit
Your calculations are good and correct to the best of my knowledge. If you are in good health and you are able to travel and complete the requirements prior to that, then you will be laughing all the way to the Indian Continent. But RENEW your PR Card for a New one with current picture a month prior to the lapse of the card. Then you will have more clout to your re-entry.
This is just a suggestion and you can take it or leave it.
Good Luck.
Freddie.
