Hello Friends

I am canadian PR who spent 1 year in Canada, but didnt get job that i am looking for, and got H1B. So started working in USA. Still visiting my family in Canada every 2 to 3 weeks once. And spend few days and coming back to USA due to job obligation. I can do like this until 2010 Dec, but not beyond that.

So after that either i should stay in canada for 1 more year to get my PR renewed for next 5 years or i should abondon my PR. But i want to retain my PR.

Which are best possible acceptable ways that i can look into to retain my PR ?
pl suggest.

Thanks
vizkiz

The PR residency requirements are very clear:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5445EA.asp

Once past the 5-year mark, the requirements become a sliding window i.e. counting backwards 5 years from the current date, you must meet the requirement.
It is not within every block of 5 years.
Therefore, you can't stay stay for 2 years, leave for 6 and then come back for another 2 years to meet the requirements.

If you are doing daily, weekly or monthly commute, you need to keep track of your residency.
When applying for PR Card renewal or for citizenship, you need to prove that you have met the requirements by itemizing all days present and absent.
CIC will not track this for you.
