Could some guide me exactly what is meant by "official transcripts" of education qualifications attained outside Canada?.

My understanding is that it is a certified "true copy" or a "certified photcopy" of all mark lists and either 12th or diploma/degree certificates that the Registrar of the college/university/Principal of school,in India attests and is sent directly in a sealed cover to the evaluating agency or college or university as the case may be.

As far as I know, Official Transcripts are detailed report of your education like
for each subject, how many classes was arranged by college, how many practical classes etc etc

But again it differs in college to college or University to university.

When I applied for Transcripts with my college, I got detailed report as I mentioned earlier. It may be 10-15 pages report.
Of course it will be in sealed envelope.

But when I applied for Transcripts with my University, they given me Certified 'True Copy' in sealed envelope

I found many places, they don't accept College Transcripts particularly in Canada. They need from University

So before applying, check what exactly they need

Just for your information , when I applied for immigration, they requested me College Transcripts while after coming here when I applied with WES or Toronto University for equivalency, they need only from University

Transcripts in Canada are referred to Mark Sheets in India. The official Mark Sheets (Transcripts) should be sent from the Originators (Predominantly from the Universities) to the verifier at the Foreign Country such evaluating agences or to the Foreign University Admission office for Admission.

I wrote to WES and ALIS, they write back english without explaining.

Originals to be sent to these people?? is that it?, and if they get lost?

Don't send originals

Just send photo copy with attached letter and fees ( if any)

Your College/University will make another or use same photo copy & will make as Certified Copy.

Just a precaution, if you have option. Don't take services from WES
Better apply at Toronto University
