Hello Masood Sir,
Is it OK if I can send copy of the university transcript ( marksheet) notarized ?. Getting original transcripts in sealed envelope is taking lot of time .
Thanks
You can try but be prepared for CHC to insist. It does happen.

Dear Mr. Massood,
My husband is the principal applicant who graduated from college around 12-13 years. So he was unable to trace some of his marksheets. He went to his engineering college (which happens to be in Kanpur) to get a copy from the old records and it was such a pain dealing with those guys and requesting them to trace the old records. After great difficulty we managed and submitted notorized copies. But after reading yr post, I don't know what to do. How can we proceed now and ask the university to give us the original transcripts (from almost a decade back) in a sealed envelope. These records r not computerised and r in different ledgers in a dingy old record room. Please advise. Your guidance will really help us as its been around a year since we submitted everything to CIC.
Thank u.
I have not had any problems giving notarized copies. It was at the interview that I had to show the originals.
Sorry, this is Mr. Massood's area of expertise.
My response is limited to my experience:
Are you asking about university admission or application for immigration?
a. If for admission, universities generally insist on sealed transcripts posted directly by university or college.
b. If it is for Permanent Resident Visa/Immigration:
-CIC maybe satisfied with notarised copy in first phase.
-CIC, if not satisfied, may call you for an interview; you can show original at that time.
-If it is impossible to get sealed transcripts, and issue is only immigration, do not get heart attacks over it. You are fine.
Thanks LD. This pertains to immigration only. We had a couple of marksheets in original but the rest were lost. However we did have the original degree from the university. So it was these lost marksheets which were re-issued by the university and were handed over to us.
Massoodji, cud u please confirm if we need to have the transcripts in a sealed envelope ?
thank u
Hi Alexm,
Did not notice yr response earlier. Did u apply in the SW category or as a student ?
Thanks
