Dear CD's

I went to US consulate for visitor visa, and my visa kept on hold and the reason given to me is interagency clearence, and asked me come anytime without appointment within a year, what does it mean and how much time it will take to get clearence, and they will let me know the result by email, please clarify this CD's

In my case they took around three months. but they send you an email from time to time regarding the status of the application.

I haven't received any update from US consulate about my status, its already 6months over, how do i get update? can i see it online or do i need to go to consulate in person, plz advice

I think there is a consulate phone number which could give you the update on your visa application but they charge about $1.9/min. From what you've written, it sounds like your application has gone under security review. No body knows, why some application get processed in 2 months and some in 9 months. It happened to me too.
