Hi everyone,
I'm so glad that I actually can talk to someone about visitor visa to Canada. I'm a landed immigrant from Ukraine, have been living and working in Canada for over 3 years. Now I'm preparing documents for my parents who live in Ukraine to visit me and my fiance.
I have a good position in leasing company and I also work as a beauty consultant part time. However, I'm afraid that it's not enough if I'm inviting the both parents for the very first time even if they are coming just for a month. Would it help if I write down on the invitation that my Canadian fiance that I live with will help with expenses and give it to him to sign it as well? I can show a copy of his T4. I'm just not sure if fiance is considered to be a family.... ?
And the second question, do I have to arrange Heath Insurance before applying for visa as my dad is 71 and my mom is 62 but they both are in good health? Where would I get the insurance for them in Vancouver?
I haven't seen them for over 3 years and I really miss them. Any suggestions will be very appreciated.

Hi tati,
You say you live with your Fiance' at the same location.
Now for starters, if you drive, you must have a driver's license with an address in it. Is the address current? Same as you live at, currently?
You also must have a MSP Care Card issued to you by the BC Ministry of Health. Does your Finace's health card and yours have the same address listed in it. If not, try and get it changed first, to the same address. This will give more intimacy to your relationship.
Do you both have a Joint Bank Account? If not please open one and drop a few dollars into it.
When you marry (or begin living in a marriage-like relationship - see the definition of spouse under Who is Eligible?), you should combine separate MSP accounts into one family account - see Adding a Spouse below.
Does the Revenue Canada Know your current home address?
Does the Revenue Canada Know your Fiance's current address? Is it the same? Please check his T4. and NOA.
Now, have you been living at the same address together for the past SIX months?
If all of the foregoing questions are YES, then I would venture into answering your question if your Fiance' is your Family? Otherwise, wait for another six months before you apply for a Visitor's Visa for your Parents.
If the answer is YES and if your Fiance' is willing to co sponsor your Parents for the Visitor's Visa, then get all of the Papers and fill them up and do get the application in after his signature. (Please do retain a PhotoCopy of the same for YOUR files)
Canadian Immigration might need a medical check before they issue of the Visa, if the Immigration Officer determines that it is necessary.
After they have their Visa to Visit, make proper arrangements for their travel.
When you book the Plane Tickets for your Parents, get all of the details of the travel, Such as the day on which the Travel Begins and the day on which it ends.
Also where the flight Originates and terminates.
TENTATIVELY, talk with RBC Travel Insurance, or a branch of theirs in Vancouver and find out more details about their PAY ASSIST package which covers existing conditions, if they have been stabilized and get a quote for the duration of their travels. It will be about $10/day for EACH. It also depends upon their ages and the duration of their stay. It will be wise to avail the same. (It will not cost more than a days stay in a Hospital here or anywhere, if the need ever arises.)
Hope this answers some of the doubts that you brought up here. Hope you have a great get to-gether.
Good Luck.
Freddie.
You say that your Husband is here on a Work Permit. Where ever he is living, close to that place, there is a NEW Immigrant Help Center. If he goes there with all of the available papers that he has, they will help him fill the application correctly and will also help him with any other requirements, such as an invitation letter, qualifying factors, the fees required and the correct procedures which will get you a Temporary Resident Visa in a very short while. They will also give him the time it takes to get it. (Approximate). All of this is FREE.
So, when he calls next time tell him about it. Ask him to follow it up with the Center.
Good Luck.
Freddie.

please help me-visa rejected

My Parents had visited once in late 90's without any problem and two years back when they wanted to come here, there visa was rejected.
Someone suggested me to contact my MP (Federal). I live in Markham and our MP is John McClum ...I sent him a fax explaining the situation. Next day, I got a call from his Assistant and she asked me to give her copies of all the documents that they had presented in Delhi for Visiors Visa and also the File Number, that is mentioned on the Rejection Letter. I gave her all fax copies and then she contacted Ottawa Office with MP's recommendation letter. She told me that she can not gurantee that my parents will get a visa but usually there should not be any problem, if all documents are in order. And to my surprise, next day my parents got a phone call from Consultate in Delhi to bring their passports and collect the visa
Thanks to my MP's Assistant but she pulled this off litteraly in 48 hrs. I had never imagined politicians can work that fast !
After this I had told this idea to three families that I know off, whose Parents' Visa was rejected and two of them got the visa on MP's recommendation.
So all those who are going thru' this phase, should contact their local MP's as last resort.

The above is pasted from today's request in another thread.
You know where your Husband lives. Tell him to go and see a Representative in one of the Immigrant Help Centers close yo where he is living. They will help him with everything. All of this is happening because, you have not filled in your application form properly.
You both should wake up. You are only seeing and hearing. You are not listening to any suggestions that is the problem.
Good Luck.
Freddie.
