hello there, I was involved in a car accident yesterday. other guy hit me while i was coming out of the plaza, there was police guy there but he told us to go to the collsion reporting center, then we exchange the information and went to the collision center they took my story and picture but never said anything else regarding the accident. How this thing works they gonna listen to the other party and then issue the demerit ticket or they just tell ur insurance thats all,and i havent informed my insurance company yet.
pls ppl if anyone have any clue pls let me know, kind of worried bout the situation as this is the first time any thing like this happened to me

It all depends the way you were hit. If the buy hit you from the rear, then it is 100% his fault.
If you are making a claim or even not making claim, once you have filed the repot then you should inform the insurance co. You are not issued a ticket then there is no issue of demerits points.
How much is your damage? Is it above >$1000. Did the other guy went to CRC? Did you note the police officer details who asked you to go to CRC?
If you are in Ontario, there is information on Ontario Govt website that shows the fault determination rules. Please have a look at those.

Who was the other driver? from in our community?
and YOU MUST TELL YOUR INSURANCE company immediately or it will make big troubles for you.

thanks guys, i know its my fault but the guy was speeding too. no ididn't get the information regarding the officer who send us to CRC. I just informed the insurance company. As i have only 3rd party insurance they said i won't be getting anything for my car but if other guy claim for it then m covered.but im more concerend about getting a ticket nobody gave me anything at the accident site and also at crc, so now they gonna call me and give it to me or they just let it go. pls reply and appreciate ur help

Most probably, if you are in private property or in parking lot, they generally go for 50-50 fault but you are not at fault, and accident happened in Ontario your automobile loss is covered under section 3(Direct compensation property damage) of Ontario Automobile policy # 1 . You can get accident benefits from your own OA
policy regardless of your fault and your insurance premium will not go up. If you are at fault and do not have collision or All peril optional coverage you might not anything for your automobile property damage.
