Murthy,

When you bring your stuff to Canada, would you like to bring it all together in one trip or bring every item one by one in separate trips? i.e. first bring the couch, then bring the dining table, then bring the TV then bring the bed etc etc.?

Exactly.

Similarly, we're trying to stay organized here at Canadiandesi. It does not help if there are several separate posts on the same topic. So please search the forum and I'm sure you'll find similar posts in the "Moving to Canada soon" section. You're most welcome to append you question there.

Thanks and good luck moving to Canada.

Well, it does get tiring to remind people of the same thing OVER and OVER again, even though while posting a new post, it clearly tells them to do a search first.

In any case, I apologize if you're offended, I was just trying to explain the purpose of asking people to not start new posts on topics that have already been covered.

Following electronics items can be brought from the
Middle East:

-Home Theater System/ Music System
-Multi System Television ( Only if you want to watch
PAL/MESECAM Tapes)Single System (NTSC) TVs are cheaper
here.
-Multi System VCR/ DVD Player( Only if you want to
watch PAL/MESECAM Tapes/DVDs)
-Multi Purpose Kitchen Machine ( Dual Volt would be
better)
-As I mentioned previously if you want high end
Microwave Oven get one from the Middle East ( Make sure
it must have dual frequency option 50/60hz) To use this
oven you will have to create one 220V electrical outlet
in your kitchen, which should be a big deal.

-DO NOT bring Camcorder and Digital Camera as these
items are cheaper here. Computer would also be cheaper
here

-DO NOT bring washing machine, Dryer, Cooking range,
Fridge or any other heavy appliances

Non Electronics Items, these small things would very
helpful in Canada:

-Carpets
-Rolling Board and Rolling Spindle to make chapaties
-Non Stick Tava to bake Chapaties
-Non Stick Cook ware
-Heavy and medium Blankets (Double Size)
-Bed Sheet Sets, bed covers
-Crockery sets ( In Canada only set 4 persons are
available, quality crockery is expensive too)
-Pressure Cooker
-Grinder for Idlee and Dosa ( If you like Idlee and
Dosa)
-Enough dresses for whole family to last long
-Common medicines to last at least 3 months ( for cold,
fever and some common Antibiotics) Because you will get
your health card after 3 months from arrival date.
Although medicines are not include in Government Health
Coverage but to get antibiotics you need a prescription
from the doctor. If you don't have health card you will
have to pay doctor's fees. And once you get
prescription Pharmacist would charge you around $10.00
$12.00 + Cost of Medicine to dispense that medication.
-Perfumes ( if you use them)
-Cutlery
-Thermos (Bigger one for Picnic)

DO NOT bring any Indian groceries such as lintels,
rice, tea, etc. All Indian groceries are available here
at reasonable rates. DO NOT bring heavy winter clothing
and pullovers, these items available in India or Middle
East won't be good for Canadian winter. Bringing light
jackets would be a good idea for Spring and Fall
season. I don't know if anyone is using glasses in your
family and also don't know how much does it cost in
Dubai but here one pair of reasonable quality glasses
are available for around C$ 200 a pair. So just see by
yourself where it would be cheaper for you to buy
glasses. If you are bringing any electrical appliances
make sure those can be operated at 110V/dual voltage
and bring some adapters to connect those with American
style electrical outlets (Flat prongs for neutral and
live and round prong for ground).
