Could someone please give me contact numbers and address of SBI Mississauga? If anyone banks there, please let me know if their service is good/efficient.
Thanks, MBJ

Many thanks for the info.
We are thinking of bringing a Can$ draft from SBI Mumbai (our bankers here), to deposit in SBI Mississauga after opening an account there. I guess this would be a quick/effective way to realise the funds.
Could you tell me if I could access my SBI A/c in Mumbai through the Mississauga branch when required?
Thanks and Regards.

You can ask SBI Mumbai or Mississauga(through contacts/email/ISD ) as to how much time will a draft take to clear in your case and bring the funds accordingly. I do not bank with SBI in Canada, so I have no idea. I bank with ICICI for sending money to India but do not go to the bank personally. I use cheque lock box.

If you are going to india on a visit then do below things.
1) As a Canadian Citizen, you can bring less then 10k $ back with you. SO you can bring approx CAD 9500 w/o declaring. So you can convert your INR and get CAD
2) When you are on India Visit, go to any exchange broker and get INR converted to CAD. Open a NRI & FCNR A/c. Put that CAD in FCNR A/c for approx 1 year fix deposit. Once the deposit is matured, ask them to transfer the fund from SBI India to SBI Canada (Wire Transfer).
3) As from Canada lot of people send INR to India for their loved ones. You can send money directly from your India A/c on behalf of them and then get the CAD here in Canada.
Above may not be legal but can be done
